처음 기공작업 시, mid palatal soft tissue로부터 1~2mm 정도 공간을 두고, Kee’s bone expander를 최대한 밀착시켜 설치합니다.
First of all, space 1~2 mm/one to two milli metre apart from mid palatal soft tissue, and install the Kee’s bone expander stick to the mid palate maximally.
※ 공간이 클 경우, 확장 시 고정용 스크류의 휨 또는 경사가 발생하여 failure 가능성이 높아집니다.
※ In case the space is larger, it is easy to fail since the fixation screw would be bended or sloped.
※ Supporting arm은 고정용 스크류 식립 시 가이드역할과 정확한 위치에 고정시키는 기능을 하므로, 약간 흔들려도 skeletal expansion에는 문제가 없습니다.
※ Supporting arm functions as a guide to insert the screw accurately, so it does not matter to skeletal expansion, even if the supporting arm moves a little.

1-1. 식립 순서  Procedure for Insertion
Kee’s bone expander를 고정할 수 있도록, 두 번재와 세 번째 Bone 스크류를 대각선 방향으로 2/3 정도 식립합니다.
1-1. To fix Kee’s bone expander, insert the second and third Bone screw in a diagonal direction about 2/3. / 2/3 diagonally.
1-2. 2번과 3번 위치 고정용 Bone 스크류를 ⅔ 정도 (pre-fix)시킨 이후, 각각의 스크류를 순서에 맞게 최대한 직각 식립합니다.
1-2. After pre-fixing bone screws to fix for no.2 and 3, almost perpendicularly insert each screw in order.
※ 스크류 식립시 Bone에 잠기도록 식립 하는 것을 추천드립니다. (expansion의 용이함과 환자의 irritation을 줄이기 위하여)
※ When inserting the screw,  bury the screw in the bone enough. (To minimize irritation for patients and expand easily)
1-3. Anterior 부분에는 9mm 외과용 bone screw, Posterior 부분에는 7mm 외과용 bone screw 를 사용합니다.
1-3. Use 9mm surgical bone screw on the anterior side, and use 7 mm surgical bone screw on the posterior side.
1-4. 1번과 2번 위치에는 치아 1~2번 사이를 겨냥하여 식립합니다. 3번과 4번은 palatal의 mid line 근처로 식립합니다.
1-4. On the expander no.1 and 2, insert the expander for/aim at the space between teeth no.1 and 2. Insert the expander no.3 and 4 near to the mid line of palatal.
1-5. bone 스크류 식립 시, 엔진 등의 기구를 사용하기보다 핸드드라이버를 사용하여 손으로 직접 식립하는 것을 추천합니다.
1-5. When inserting bone screw, you had better use a hand driver (by hand) rather than instruments like engine etc.
※ 식립 시 고정용 스크류가 더 이상 돌아가지 않으면, 파절 가능성이 높아지므로 식립을 중단합니다. 엔진 등 기구를 사용하면 위의 상황을 인지하기 어려워지므로 손으로 식립하는 것이 좋습니다.
※ If the fixation screw does not turn any more, discontinue inserting the screw to avoid odontoclasis/fracture.
Insert the screw by hand, or it would be difficult to recognize the above situation by instruments like engine.

3-1. 핀 사용 횟수 Number of Using Pin
사용 환자의 악궁 형상이나 골밀도 등을 모두 고려하여 횟수를 정하는 것이 좋습니다.
3-1. Decide/Set/Order the number of using pin upon consideration of patient’s arch form and bone density.
보편적인 기준으로 하루에 한 번씩 돌리는 것을 추천 드립니다.
Turn the pin once a day in standard.
※ 4회 Turn = 1바퀴 (1회 turn -> 0.2mm이동)
※ Four times Turn = One round (One turn -> 0.2mm movement)
3-2. 핀이 회전되지 않을 때 In case the pin does not be turned
사용 초기에 핀이 돌아가지 않는 경우 waiting 하는 것을 추천 드립니다
3-2. Wait for the pin in case the pin does not be turned initially.
Bone의 ankylosis 현상으로 2~3주 후에도 diastema가 되지 않는 경우에는 3~4주 waiting을 추천드립니다.
If diastema does not happen due to ankylosis after 2~3weeks, wait about 1~2 weeks more.
※ 충분한 시간 소요가 expansion 성공률을 높이게 됩니다.
※ Take enough time to expand successfully.

Application : children > adults / No impression / Immdeate setting / Bonding simultaneous

※ 기존 RPE는 약 4회 내원 요망, 그러나 Kee’s bone expander 당일 장착 가능 하므로 Speed 하게 진행합니다.
※ Patients with RPE need to visit hospital about 4 times, but Kee’s bone expander can be installed within the day.
※ Kee’s bone expander 소아용 Adaption 이 후, body base plate 부분에 왁스로 고정 시키고 스크류 식립합니다.
※ After adapting Kee’s bone expander for infants/children, fix with wax on the part of body base plate, and insert screw.
※ 장착 후 Direct로 Pin을 회전시켜도 무방합니다.
※ After finishing installation/installation, it is fine to turn the pin directly.
※ 기존 RPE는 Total 6개월이 소요, Kee’s bone expander 소아용은 4개월이면 가능합니다.
※ RPE requires 6 months totally, but Kee’s bone expander for infants/children is completed for 4 months.
